Rivian hot-weather tests its R1T

Pickup truck customers expect their vehicles to be able to tow heavy loads cross country, and if electric trucks are going to attract existing IC engine users, they must match these expectations.

Rivian, which is hoping to deliver the first production versions of its R1T in mid-2021, has been undertaking hot weather towing tests to make sure its prototypes are fit for purpose even in the most demanding conditions. This video follow the company’s test engineers as they take on some of the benchmark test routes through the USA’s Death Valley.
