Rugged, high-speed camera for crash tests launched

The new IL5-S 5MP high-speed camera from Fastec Imaging enables users to record high-speed events for airbag and automotive component testing and troubleshooting.

With recording speeds of 1000fps at 1,280 x 1,014 or 2,750fps at 768 x 576 (faster frame rates can be obtained at smaller resolutions) and a base model starting below US$9,000, the Fastec IL5-S offers high performance at an affordable price.

Built for flexibility and ease of use, the Fastec IL5-S camera can be controlled over gigabit Ethernet via Fastec FasMotion software on a PC/Mac, or via the built-in web interface with any web browser on a PC, Mac, tablet, or even a smartphone.

Unlike traditional high-speed camera systems that only record for a few seconds and require careful triggering, the IL5-S’s long-record (LR) option can record at high speed for many minutes at high resolutions, and many hours at reduced resolutions.
