Groupe PSA and nuTonomy, a developer of software for self-driving cars, have entered into a strategic partnership. As part of this, nuTonomy will integrate its software into customized Peugeot 3008 SUVs specially developed by the auto maker.

In the initial phase, nuTonomy will install its software and specialized sensors and computing platforms. Integration is expected to be complete this summer, with on-road testing of the 3008s beginning in Singapore in September. Testing will then continue to expand into other major cities around the world.

The partnership provides an opportunity for both companies to study autonomous vehicle system performance, as well as the end-to-end user experience of an on-demand AV mobility service in urban use cases.
