New wireless cam enables easier measurement in crash tests

The new wireless ProCam sytem from Aicon provides total freedom of movement around the vehicle. Engineers can work freely and quickly using the handheld probe. The system is equipped with a high-resolution CMOS camera and fast WLAN data transfer.

The measurement software is also completely new and specially designed for the pre- and post-crash measurement of vehicles. The user-friendly interface guides the user through the entire measurement process.

The active probe is ergonomically designed and offers maximum convenience during measurement. It is based on inverse photogrammetry technology in which the camera faces a fixed reference field. The probe is equipped with a changeable tip to touch the object point. Point measurement is easily triggered at the touch of a button. An integrated infrared ring flash illuminates the measurement points. Thus the system operates independently of surrounding light.

With only one charge the battery power enables measurement of up to 50,000 single points.
