Gras Sound & Vibration UK has reported a high demand for its recently launched 146AE automotive measurement microphone. The shock-, dust- and oil mist-resistant design of the microphone is helping vehicle manufacturers meet strict industry NVH performance requirements by delivering accurate measurement data under extreme conditions.

The 146AE is currently being used across a range of automotive applications, including in-car dynamic measuring, tire testing, on-track and acoustic and vibrational transfer function. It is also being used for high-temperature, under-hood testing, in transmission tunnels for gearbox/differential-related noise and for all kinds of whines, creaks and rattles in the vehicle cabin. It is also ideal for measuring in engine compartments, transmissions and for exhaust and brake noise tests.
