Vehicle OEM Maserati has announced that the brand’s GranCabrio prototypes have begun testing on the roads of Modena, Italy for the first phases of development testing.

As the brand begins a path to offering a full-electric version of each car in its range by 2030, the Maserati GranTurismo and the Maserati GranCabrio will be the first cars with a 100% electric solution, as the OEM seeks to launch its Folgore electric range.

Before the new GranCabrio’s scheduled launch in 2023, the OEM is conducting a well-rounded and rigorous development program which will see the vehicle being subjected to tests on both the road and the racetrack in a multitude of conditions to gather data for final tuning ahead of its release.
