The new 8.7 update to the X-Crash evaluation software for passive vehicle safety has launched, ensuring that the MeasX software now supports the stricter test regulations according to Euro NCAP 2026.
The X-Crash software from MeasX specializes in the evaluation of passive safety systems in accordance with international regulations. The latest program update, X-Crash version 8.7, includes the significantly stricter Euro NCAP protocols for safety assessment in 2026, alongside introducing a host of new features including a simplified interface.
Euro NCAP 2026 requires numerous additional tests that go beyond impact protection, with the aim of further improving the protection of occupants and vulnerable road users. The updated test requirements for frontal and side impacts, low-speed collisions and vulnerable road users (VRU) have been fully integrated into the 8.7 evaluation library.

From 2026, the assessment program for new vehicles will pursue a more holistic safety strategy with stricter test requirements in four areas – driver monitoring, driver assistance systems, crash protection in the event of an accident and post-crash safety.
“Euro NCAP is pacing fast into a new era of Safety evaluation. We at MeasX accompanied this change of paradigm early on and already implemented the new regulations in our latest X-Crash release,” said Klaas Ebel, head of vehicle safety at MeasX.

The X-Crash 8.7 update enables direct interaction with the X-Veracity evaluation platform, where users can automatically upload their test data to X-Veracity and start the centralized X-Crash evaluation.
“We are very happy about the new interface between X-Crash and X-Veracity. OEMs and suppliers can evaluate their tests from X-Crash directly on X-Veracity and automatically use the defined program version. This allows us to achieve a new level of efficiency and test quality for our customers,” explained Ebel.
