Triton to build gearbox test facility for David Brown Santasalo

Triton Construction has secured a £1.5m (US$2m) contract to build a new testing facility for UK gear manufacturer David Brown Santasalo, where the company will analyze new and refurbished gearboxes.

The center piece will be a 5,400ft2 warehouse building at the company’s headquarters in Huddersfield, which will be soundproofed and fitted with anti-vibration measures, as well as all the external works and drainage. At 9m high, the facility’s design enables overhead traveling cranes to be installed for moving gearboxes and equipment.

Triton was selected to build the new facility for David Brown Santasalo following two successful projects that it completed for the company. The projects were two manufacturing and engineering buildings worth £5m (US$6.5m).

Triton Construction has previously built the facilities for the assembly, integration and test of marine gearboxes and has now been selected to build the new land defense gearbox test facility.”
