CTAG-IDIADA acquires Key Safety Systems’ German test lab

LinkedIn +

CTAG-IDIADA Safety Technology has expanded its passive safety testing and engineering capabilities through the acquisition of a test complex near Frankfurt, Germany.

Equipment and capabilities at the facility include a Hyge reverse acceleration sled for frontal, rear and side impact simulation; airbag deployment test facilities with ambient and climatic control; out-of-position test tools; ejection mitigation evaluation according to FMVSS 226; and environmental simulation for airbags and seatbelts.

The facility used by international vehicle and systems manufacturers housed a team of more than 35 experts and is outfitted with state-of-the-art test equipment, and a complete set of dummies, including THOR and World SID.

The laboratory complements the facilities that both CTAG and IDIADA have in Spain, and reinforces IDIADA’s passive safety test capabilities at its pedestrian protection laboratory in Ingolstadt, Germany.
