In a new video, Ola Källenius, chairman of the board of management at Mercedes-Benz Group, puts the Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ technology through its paces at the Mercedes-Benz Technology Center (MTC) in Sindelfingen, Germany. In the video, the electric GLC takes on five challenges and viewers are given a preview of its design, capabilities and handling. The electric GLC will be unveiled at Munich’s IAA motor show on September 7, 2025.
“The biggest product launch program in our company’s history continues with the all-new GLC,” said Källenius. “We’re not just introducing a new model – we’re electrifying our top seller. It will feature a bold new design language, cutting-edge technology, our MB.OS operating system and performance that sparks excitement. The all-new GLC is comfort, dynamics, efficiency and intelligence in perfect harmony, and it’s ready to be revealed at this year’s IAA.”
Agility & Comfort package
The optional Agility & Comfort package includes Airmatic air suspension paired with rear-axle steering, offering up to 4.5° of steering angle in each direction. The vehicle features air suspension technology derived from the Mercedes-Benz S‑Class, designed to reduce the impact of uneven road surfaces and imperfections. An integrated adjustable damping system, also from the S‑Class, is included to balance ride comfort with handling performance.
Space and comfort
In comparison to current models, the latest-generation electric GLC features significantly more legroom and headroom for front and rear passengers. Its wheelbase is 3.1 inches longer than the current combustion engine-powered GLC. The trunk volume is 569 liters, expanding to 1,739 liters when the rear seats are folded down. The frunk (front trunk) provides an additional 127 liters of cargo space.
Fast charging
The highlight of the new electric architecture is the 800V system, which optimizes efficiency and performance and reduces charging times when combined with the latest battery generation. Approximately 260km (WLTP) of range can be charged in approximately 10 minutes. DC fast charging at over 320kW is possible; a DC converter enables the use of 400V charging stations in certain countries.
Towing capacity
The GLC 400 4MATIC with EQ technology features a towing capacity of up to 2,400kg (braked). A tongue weight of 100kg enables the transportation of items such as electric bicycles on a compatible carrier. ESP trailer stabilization and a trailer maneuvering assistant contribute to improved stability and ease of handling while towing.
This is made possible by the MB.OS supercomputer, where software intelligence is merged with an immersive digital experience.
