Horiba MIRA, working closely with the UK Connected Intelligent Transport Environment consortium, has moved a step closer to V2X communications simulation with an all-new working traffic model, developed using the Vissam micro-simulation package from PTV.

Within the model it is now possible to simulate traffic flows as well as driver behaviors on a mix of urban and motorway roads.

Horiba MIRA will use the model to predict how CAV technologies influence journeys and inform of future deployment strategies to optimize socio-economic benefits.

Chris Reeves, commercial manager at Horiba MIRA, is pleased with the progress made to date: “The completion of the traffic model is an important step forward with the project. It is helping to pave the way for the development and deployment of CAVs in the UK.”
