ATTI asks a selection of industry professionals what they would identify as the cornerstone of development at their companies. Next up: Davide Casini, head of vehicle safety and functional development at Italdesign.

We value the performance of the vehicle as one of the most important interface aspects between the user and the vehicle. We develop the vehicle from the very beginning in view of the required performances, with the full involvement of our performance engineers who contribute to the vehicle engineering team.

We leverage the best digital tools for virtual testing, including ones we have developed ourselves, to optimize the vehicle to meet all targets (performance, weight, costs, feasibility) and to minimize the use of hardware. Testing to confirm we have achieved our targets is only then executed on pre-series cars – enabling a reduction in development costs and timing, and guaranteeing high performance levels.
