ZF TRW has opened a cutting-edge crash sled facility at its Anting Technical Centre in China.

The 66,000m² facility, which houses the latest ServoSled, is ZF TRW’s largest technical center worldwide and employs more than 1,200 engineering, research and technical staff.

It was designed and built to house more than 20 scientific testing labs supporting the development of driver assist systems, braking, steering, occupant safety and electronic technologies. The center supports vehicle manufacturers in bringing advanced safety systems to the Chinese market and the broader Asia-Pacific region.

Norbert Kagerer, global vice president, occupant safety systems engineering, commented, “Our OSS testing and validation program is a crucial part of research and development and the overall business strategy. We are immensely proud to be opening our fourth crash laboratory worldwide, here in this state-of-the-art research and development facility.

Having the sled locally in Anting will provide strong support for our future growth in China; we can work even closer with domestic and international OEMs – testing specifically for the Chinese market.”
