The Indoor 2 winter handling track at Test World in Finnish Lapland, is now open. Investment for the facility, which is almost 400m long and 10m wide, totaled approximately US$12.5m. It offers a year-round snow packed platform with a temperature that can be adjusted down to -10°C, as well as the air temperature. Snow for both Test World’s indoor test facilties is collected in spring and stored on the floor. It is preserved by underfloor refrigeration tubes – more than 30 miles (50km) of them in Indoor 2.

Recently appointed MD Sami Toljamo, commented, “Test World is the biggest winter testing facility in Europe and our marketing strategy is to stay a few steps ahead of our competitors by constantly developing our service portfolio. Indoor 1 and 2 are great examples of us being an innovative pioneer in the industry. The indoor facilities and their value to our customers are truly unique; no other company offers the same. The industry is under constant pressure to shorten product development times and Test World is proud to be able to help.”
