Updated HyperWorks simulation platform released by Altair

The latest release of Altair’s flagship simulation platform HyperWorks is now available. HyperWorks 14.0 includes several new products, feature enhancements and updated functionalities, which enable users to access the latest technologies more quickly.

Many of HyperWorks 14.0’s modeling and visualization tool enhancements aim to give engineers the ability to leverage larger models and assemblies. For example, users now have access with variant parts within assembly and subassembly models.

These can be passed back and forth between the most popular CAD systems and HyperMesh, which can build different meshes based on the variant parts and the simulation type, which subsequently reduces the necessary time to optimize a mesh.

HyperWorks 14.0 has undo and redo functions that will be compatible for most geometry and meshes, and Altair says these functions will be useful for users creating larger geometry and meshes that have in the past been prone to mistakes.

To support all of these larger models and assemblies, Altair has also released a new graphics engine, which has seen an improvement in rendering speeds with less RAM usage compared with the previous release of the software.
