Automotive Testing Expo Europe 2017 exhibitor Exova has moved into its new 50,000ft² supersite in Wednesbury in the UK. The relocation provides a significant amount of extra space for increased capacity of testing, improved efficiency and will enable investment in two new large test chambers.

Ian El-Mokadem, CEO of Exova, commented, “This is an important milestone in the growth of our automotive and building products testing businesses. Bringing these testing services together, close to our key customers, will enable us to increase efficiency and turnaround times, and give greater access to Exova’s global expertise.”

The site will initially employ 32 people, a figure which is expected to rise in the first two years as development continues.

The test service provider has also extended its contract for 2017 with Laird for the analysis of automotive smart antennas. The work is being undertaken at Exova’s Warren, Michigan, lab with support from the site at Mississauga, Ontario.

Exova will conduct all environmental testing for Laird’s North American automotive products. This includes simulation testing utilizing environmental chambers; water spray/drip testing; corrosion testing; and vibration testing utilizing electrodynamic shakers.

Investments at the Warren laboratory will support this work, including the acquisition of several environmental chambers and water spray cabinets, as well as two electrodynamic shaker systems with environmental chambers. Additionally, Exova has increased capabilities in mixed flow gas testing, which will reduce outsource costs and improve turnaround.

Visit Exova at Automotive Testing Expo Europe 2017 (booth 1380) at Messe Stuttgart, Germany, on June 20-22.
