SHOW NEWS: Dongfeng Renault selects Aries test system

Dongfeng Renault Automotive Company (DRAC) has awarded show exhibitor Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas a contract to supply a seat belt anchorage test system.

The system consists of: a high-rigidity main structure, which supports three movable horizontal beams; hydraulic actuators attached to the main structure (three to nine actuators available); and a cutting-edge control and data acquisition system with advanced and precise technology to fully comply with and exceed seatbelt safety regulation standards. The system can test two or three seats belt anchorages at a time.

The hydraulic actuators are identical and interchangeable, making maintenance easier and system availability higher. A manifold is included for connection with the hydraulic main supply line; this element has different functions, such as accommodating the accumulator’s rack, which is necessary to store energy, and providing oil filtering and safe connection of the actuators to a pressurized line.

Accumulator rack dimensioning is based on test requirements and the number of actuators involved on the test and size. The system is able to feed up to six actuators with a peak velocity of 300mm/s and up to nine actuators with a 200mm/s peak velocity.

Additionally, the software includes the loading profiles required for ECE R14, FMVSS207, FMVSS210, GB14167-2013, and also enables the definition of customized loading profiles. Different test templates can be defined by different parameters (including safety limits) and saved for the easy and fast repetition of standard tests.

Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas will be at Automotive Testing Expo Europe 2015 at Messe Stuttgart, Germany, from June 16-18, at booth C3000 in the Crash Test Zone.
