BAIC has opened its new R&D center in Detroit, Michigan, USA, which will work closely with the company’s other centers in Silicon Valley, California, and Aachen, Germany.

Work at the facility will focus on the development of advanced technologies in motor drives, power electronics and intelligent control. The facility will also enable BAIC to evaluate overseas market demand, obtain core EV technology, build on brand influence, and eventually provide support for its international layout.

Furthermore, the center will introduce advanced technologies and development to China, as well as bring Chinese EV products to the world with the aid of local resources.
