New liquid-cooled power amplifier installed at Horiba MIRA

LinkedIn +

Horiba MIRA has installed a state-of-the-art liquid-cooled power amplifier from Amplifier Research at its EMC test facility in Nuneaton, UK.

The equipment, which is already up and running, provides readily available radio frequency (RF) power for RF susceptibility, antenna and component testing. The system is said to be the first of its type in Europe.

The 12.5kW power amplifier enables Horiba MIRA to test vehicles from the automotive and defence sectors at a higher radio frequency field in radiated immunity testing, and provide greater capabilities in engineering solutions and consultancy.

Testing at this level is essential as vehicles are subjected to increasing levels of RF interference both from within the vehicle and externally, which creates greater requirements for cybersecurity and resilience testing.
