Construction is now well underway at the new Mahle Powertrain Real Driving Emissions Centre (RDEC) in Northampton, UK. Scheduled for completion in Q2 2018, the RDEC will incorporate the company’s new 4WD chassis dynamometer and full emissions equipment, enabling testing to all worldwide standards, including the WLTP procedure.

The facility will enhance Mahle Powertrain’s RDE expertise, enabling its VCA-approved RDE test routes to be used to their full potential, as well as having the capability to simulate them in the chamber.

Derek Wise, chief engineer build and test, said, “The new center will put us at the forefront of real driving emissions testing and enables us to offer a wider range of services to our existing and new customers.”
