Brüel & Kjær acquires long-term partner Sound Answers

Brüel & Kjær has acquired engineering services company Sound Answers. The two companies have been strategic partners for nine years and have a well-established relationship as well as a long track record of joint projects.

This latest development brings on board new insights and domain knowledge, extending B&K’s capability to provide high-quality troubleshooting and product development services.

Meanwhile, B&K has introduced a new family of robust tri-axial accelerometers, Type 4529 (pictured), for vibration measurements in harsh industrial environments. Designed as a replacement for the company’s popular Type 4506 model, the Type 4529 family has a tougher design and wider frequency range. They are nine times less sensitive to temperature fluctuations and 20 times less sensitive to base bending.

Another major difference is that the new Type 4529-B has a single-axis power supply, which allows much more flexibility. Now, accelerometer users can choose to measure with just one or two of the axes connected; being able to make single-axial and bi-axial measurements removes the need to connect all three channels, freeing up the data acquisition system for more accelerometers.
