AVL and software supplier PDTec have teamed-up to share product platforms. Within the scope of the partnership AVL will use PDTec’s Ice.Net to develop a model data management system for its simulation products Model.Connect, Cruise M, Fire M and Excite.

“AVL will offer its customers a powerful, comprehensive and robust solution for the management of simulation models on a system and component level,” said Dr Jürgen Krasser, manager for software development at AVL.

“We consider the partnership with PDTec a perfect opportunity to build upon an established and proven technology as offered by Ice.Net. Hence we have been able to develop a model data management system for our simulation products in the shortest possible time frame.”

Albrecht Pfaff, head of sales at PDTec, commented, “We are very pleased that AVL’s customers will soon be able to use a data management system within their familiar AVL simulation environment.

“AVL’s simulation software is a widespread technology for powertrain systems, used daily and successfully by thousands of engineers. The new data management solution will help development engineers to save valuable development time and offers major advantages with its structured model filing system.”
