Mercedes-AMG has initiated prototype testing of its Project One hypercar. Powered by the 1.6-liter V6 EQ Power+ powertrain and teamed with four electric motors, the car aims to put Formula 1 hybrid technology on the road.

Hundreds of testing hours have already been spent to prepare the high-performance drive unit for series production. This meant the whole powertrain, including all hybrid components, had to undergo the toughest race track tests on engine specialist HPP’s high-performance dyno. Successful completion of the dyno tests was followed by the installation of the complex powertrain into the first prototypes.
