A collaboration between BMW M Motorsport and BMW M Team WRT has begun with tests being conducted at the Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona in Spain.

Having completed the final race of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe, some of the team’s drivers got behind the wheel of the BMW M4 GT3 which will be used in the upcoming season.

Drivers of the BMW M4 GT3 included MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi who competed in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe for the Team WRT in 2022, and BMW M works driver Philipp Eng. Testing of the BMW M Hybrid V8 was also conducted at the race circuit.

The main aim of the testing program was to get early impressions of the vehicle’s driving behavior, ahead of next season beginning. Having been heavily involved with the BMW M4 GT3’s development and having raced it during 2022, Eng provided the team with valuable information during the test.

“It is just a first rollout, just to understand the car and how we could work”, said Vincent Vosse, team principal, WRT. “But obviously it is something very different from what we know.”
