USA-based Applied Information has been granted its 10th experimental license from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for testing cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) connected vehicle applications.

The latest license will enable Applied Information to conduct the testing of various C-V2X safety applications for infrastructure under a wide variety of roadway conditions in the Brunswick, Maine, area when working in cooperation with the Maine Department of Transportation and local Departments of Transportation (DOT).

C-V2X safety applications currently undergoing development include solutions designed for school areas, school buses, emergency vehicles, rail crossings, pedestrian areas and unprotected left turn crash avoidance solutions.

“Applied Information is committed to improving roadway safety by developing connected vehicle applications with our public and private sector partners,” said Bryan Mulligan, president, Applied Information. “We believe these licenses demonstrate the pent-up demand of DOTs across the US to demonstrate and deploy C-V2X technology as soon as possible.”
