Evaluation software company measX has published a regular release of the X-Crash software for passive vehicle safety tests. Version 8.5 of X-Crash supports the most recent regulations for passive vehicle safety tests, including those set forth by international evaluation programs for new vehicles (NCAP) in early 2024.
These updated NCAP regulations mandate additional tests for determining the safety rating of new vehicles, all of which are fully integrated into X-Crash 8.5. This is designed to allow users to conduct evaluations according to the latest international standards directly within the software.
X-Crash 8.5’s evaluation library now encompasses 479 evaluations, covering all pertinent international crash regulations and evaluation methodologies for passive vehicle safety. The primary goal of international assessment programs for new vehicles is to maximize road safety by identifying and addressing safety-critical scenarios, which are then factored into safety ratings.
Beginning in 2024, new evaluations for side impact tests involving both the driver and front passenger will become mandatory, and X-Crash 8.5 is equipped to support these tests.
“We publish a program update up to three times a year to reflect global regulations for our customers,” said Klaas Ebel, head of vehicle safety at measX. “This is our primary goal and we have succeeded again this time. We are well networked internationally and work closely with the standard-setting organizations.”
