Mechanical Simulation releases 2023.0 updates to VehicleSim

Advanced simulation software company Mechanical Simulation has updated the CarSim, TruckSim and BikeSim products in its VehicleSim software portfolio.

The company’s vehicle dynamics simulation software, which also includes SuspensionSim, enables engineers to accurately test and predict the real-world behavior of a range of vehicle components.

Mechanical Simulation regularly adds new features and simulation capabilities to ensure the software can support the latest and developing vehicle technologies. The 2023.0 version now includes a terra-mechanical tire model that is capable of simulating soft soil conditions, a vehicle math model reorganized into four stages that can be linked separately to external software, tighter connections with Siemens MF-Tyre and Cosin FTire external tire models, support for the Speedgoat RT platform and support of Unreal with dSPACE RT. A preview of the company’s high-fidelity animator based on the Unreal Engine also features.

“Our new soft-soil tire model greatly expands Mechanical Simulation’s core capabilities and is a competitive differentiator,” explained Jeremy Miller, the company’s director of engineering. “Engineers who develop vehicles that operate in off-road environments such as agricultural, construction and military applications can now bring their products to market faster and safer with the help of CarSim and TruckSim.”

Mechanical Simulation currently supports more than 200 OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, in addition to international universities and research groups.
