The first phase of installation at Direct Conversion’s first technology showroom in Munich, Germany – where customers can visit and discover the benefits of photon counting x-ray imaging – is now complete.

The Application Innovation Centre will offer extensive test and demonstration facilities as well as seminar and workshop opportunities to Direct Conversion’s global customer base.

General manager Eckhard Sperschneider is overseeing the design of the facility and the installation of the equipment that will be available for customer use, including an industrial AXI system for high-speed applications and a universal CT-setup for medical and industrial feasibility studies.

Eckhard commented, “Photon counting is a great technology with significant advantages in speed and sensitivity of x-ray imaging. The key focus of this new center is to support our customers in using this technology in the right way.”
