Six-degree-of-freedom sensor for more accurate motion characterization

MTS Sensors has released the Endevco Model 7360A, a six-degree-of-freedom (6DOF) sensor that provides analog output for three axes of acceleration and three axes of angular rate in a compact unit.

The new 6DOF sensor allows measurement of both linear and rotational dynamics that previously required multiple sensors. The multiaxial Model 7360A sensor offers low acceleration ranges and low angular rate ranges suitable for accurately characterizing motion.

Differential output is achieved using two 12-wire cables to simplify connection to data acquisition systems. Key features include, five acceleration ranges from 2g to 500g, six angular rate ranges from 100 to 18,000 degrees per second and a wide excitation voltage. Calibration is A2LA certified and is both RoHS compliant and CE approved.
