The nVent Schroff Rack Safety Plus power distribution unit (PDU) – a safety solution designed for both partially and fully automated test systems – has been launched on the US market.
The solution is built to help teams cut down on lead times, reduce costs and eliminate safety risks. Users can choose from several standard versions or quickly configure a custom setup — with up to 300,000 options available.
All configurations, whether standard or modified, are UL certified, offering a more reliable and efficient alternative to in-house builds. With nVent’s online configurator, testers can design a system using predefined components, freeing up engineers to focus on developing applications, not hardware.
The Rack Safety Plus PDU comes with a built-in safety system and meets key industry standards EN 60947-5-1 and EN 60204-1, making it a well suited for both partially and fully automated test setups. It’s designed to be plug-and-play, so it’s easy to use, quick to deploy and offers certified protection for sensitive electronic equipment, all without added complexity.
The solution is a compact, all-in-one 3U system designed for standard 19in rack mounts and includes a built-in emergency stop. It delivers advanced safety, flexibility and reliability for automated test systems housed in 19in electronics cabinets – including test and inspection equipment, systems and control monitoring, prototype test and development, real-time simulation, high-current and high-voltage power units, EV powertrain test, hardware-in-the-loop test, powertrain testing system, load simulator for electric vehicle, battery equipment test cabinets and power test equipment.
“The Rack Safety Plus PDU is a game-changer for facilities looking to optimize the safety, security and protection of their sensitive electronic equipment. With growing concerns around equipment protection and data integrity, this solution provides businesses with the peace of mind they need to operate efficiently. By combining modularity with safety compliance, we’re helping businesses streamline their automated test environments with confidence,” said Christopher Smerillo, North America product manager at nVent.
