An MOU signed by Meridian and BSI, the UK’s National Standards Body, aims to promote and foster sustainable growth and to support innovation in the connected and autonomous vehicle industry. It is believed that collaboration on high-quality standards and best practice, in partnership with industry and government, will support development and safe deployment of AVs, and give the UK a strong voice within the global market.
The MoU also aims to accelerate realization of the social and economic benefits that connected and autonomous vehicles will provide.

Dan Palmer, head of manufacturing at BSI, said, “Setting appropriate standards and testing regimes will be essential to ensuring the future public acceptance of connected and autonomous vehicles. This new collaboration between BSI and Meridian will contribute to making the UK an attractive place to develop the next-generation of autonomous vehicles.”
