The latest version strengthens the connection between IPG CarMaker and Synopsys Silver. By expanding the integration of virtual ECUs, it enables software and system testing from the very earliest stages of development. With direct access to the Silver Virtual Bus, multiple vECUs from a single entity can be included, helping to shorten test cycles and significantly boost efficiency in line with the shift-left approach.
Reliable ground truth data is essential for developing autonomous systems, and the continuously optimized ground truth sensor within CarMaker provides high-precision, configurable data tailored to individual project needs. This helps simplify validation of perception algorithms and enhances simulation accuracy. The release also introduces valuable updates to the RSI sensor models, including optimized rendering and ray-tracing algorithms for better detection quality, as well as generic ray-tracing access for maximum flexibility and customization.
CarMaker 15.0 improves interactions between road users, speeding up the shift from road to rig. Enhanced realism in junction models, and optimized path planning, deliver conclusive tests and facilitate the seamless transition from real-world test driving to virtual test driving on the test bench.
Said Alexander Frings, director product management at IPG Automotive, “With CarMaker 15.0, we are putting a strong emphasis on realism, scalability and efficiency in virtual vehicle development. From diverse ground truth data to optimized ECU integration to realistic endurance testing scenarios, the new functions provide the basis for earlier, more reliable and reproducible tests throughout all development stages.”
