BF Engineering achieves breakthrough in 4D measurement of solar simulation systems using drone technology
The advantages of using AI to continuously optimize irradiation parameters in solar simulation systems are being showcased at BF Engineering’s booth. Rather than use slow, error-prone manual calibration of irradiation strength, AI-driven drones scan and map details in real time, capturing an ultra-precise 4D dataset. Combined with advanced software updates, this enables automated fine-tuning, saving costs by accelerating calibration and accuracy. “Manual calibration of solar simulation systems meant exposing people to dangerous radiation. With AI and drones, we’ve made it safer, faster and smarter,” said Daniel Breuer, managing director, BF Engineering.

Software from Meccanica 42 bridges HIL test benches and dynamic driving simulators
At this year’s expo, Meccanica 42 is introducing its Virtual Column which addresses vehicle-level simulation needs and component-specific testing, such as steering systems. Engineers can seamlessly test a real steering system in HIL environments and dynamic simulators by integrating the steering feedback unit (SFU) and steering robot (SR) through Virtual Column, ensuring accurate performance replication. Engineers gain deeper insights into steering response, passenger impact and safety-critical conditions, ensuring a more robust and efficient development process. Virtual Column optimizes HIL workflows by seamlessly bridging component-level and vehicle-level testing, driving forward both simulation fidelity and real-world accuracy.
