OxTS is sharing several exciting updates to its RT-Range solution, designed to simplify configuration and testing processes for customers.
One significant improvement allows for the integration of more OxTS GNSS/INS devices in both hunter and target vehicles, aiming to provide greater flexibility for ADAS setups and accommodating various budget constraints.
As a returning exhibitor, Jonathan Deacon, production manager, outlined, “We have been attending the Automotive Testing Expo in Stuttgart for many years, meeting our current customers and using this platform to show our technology to those who haven’t heard of OxTS before. We have also recently opened an office in Germany, with a new German team to service our extensive customer base here in Europe.”
The company is at the expo to discuss how the OxTS GAD Interface now enhances GNSS/INS devices by integrating external sensor data to improve position accuracy in GNSS-poor environments.
“This feature is crucial for open-road tests, where GNSS signal blockage and multipath interference is common. The GAD Interface provides a standardized input for position, attitude, heading and velocity data, along with associated covariances, from sensors like lidar, cameras and wheel speed sensors. Each sensor type has unique strengths, such as lidar’s effectiveness in feature-rich areas and wheel speed sensors’ reliable and consistent velocity measurements,” continued Deacon.
OxTS has also introduced its latest GNSS/INS model, the RT3000 v4, which is equipped with the advanced IMU10 technology.
The RT3000 v4 serves as a commercially viable alternative to Fiber Optic Gyro (FOG) navigation systems: “Enhancements to OxTS’ navigation algorithms and calibration techniques enable MEMS-based sensors to achieve greater accuracy than ever before. As industries demand a greater volume of precise data in challenging environments, while maintaining cost efficiency, OxTS GNSS/INS systems leveraging IMU10 technology offer an effective solution.”
