Automotive Testing Expo North America 2024 – opens next month!

Returning next week, the North America edition of the world’s largest automotive testing technology exhibition will take place at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan, on October 22, 23 and 24.  Automotive Testing Expo North America 2024 will bring together an array of new technologies to upgrade and expedite your vehicle test, development and validation projects. It’s the only trade show solely focused on the newest technologies and services in automotive testing, evaluation and quality engineering – helping to reduce development time, improve quality and minimize product failures.

At the testing community’s yearly gathering in Michigan, more than 250 exhibitors will present state-of-the-art products and solutions, making this a must-attend for professionals within the automotive development industry.

New for 2024, the fantastic Innovation Showcase will feature special short sessions and showcases highlighting innovative concepts, prototypes and future trends in automotive analysis. These sessions will offer a glimpse into emerging technologies and concepts that could shape the future of automotive testing – find out more.

There will also be a free-to-attend workshop on October 22, hosted by Schwalb Consulting and focused on implementing ODD to support autonomous vehicle development, validation, road testing and compliance communications. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis so make sure you secure your spot early.

Exhibitor highlights will include Stähle unveiling its latest advances in automated precision testing and reporting for BEV range detection. Dewesoft’s team will present the DC-CT current transducer, made for EV and HEV tests on electromotors, inverters and charging systems. DC-CT provides all the advantages of a zero-flux current transducer but with lower power consumption and a more compact design. Typhoon HIL will showcase its e-drive HIL testbed. With futureproof connectivity options, the testbed enables users to perform e-drive simulation, condition signals between HIL and ECU, simulate faults and temperature measurements, and insert hardware faults.

Don’t miss new in-cabin acoustic testing and data acquisition solutions from Axiometrix brands GRAS and imc, and improved visual data acquisition solutions from Denkei Corporation Americas.

Those interested in crash testing will be able to see the latest from Messring, which will unveil its new Compact Impact Sled (CIS) with a low-g module, revolutionizing whiplash testing by eliminating the need for a foundation, industrial air compressor or dryer.

In addition, new for this year, the Future of Automotive Testing Conference will see industry leaders share strategic insights into emerging trends, and their vision for the industry – with diverse perspectives from automotive OEMs, suppliers, testing laboratories, research institutions and regulatory bodies. Engage in in-depth technical sessions covering simulation and virtual testing, environmental testing, agile testing methodologies and advanced sensor technologies. There will be ample networking opportunities for attendees to connect with peers, industry experts and potential collaborators.

Among those sharing knowledge will be John Kwant, executive director for the Americas at the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), speaking on V2X – what automotive testing engineers need to know about 5GAA policy; Greg Yezersky, services manager at ZF Group, focusing on the future of cybersecurity testing; Dr Mohammad Behroozi, senior vehicle dynamicist at General Motors, who will give an insight into optimizing vehicle dynamics, component design and testing for electric vehicle development; and Partha Goswami, principal at PG Mobility Analysis, who will deliver a fascinating presentation on the software-defined vehicle (SDV) and the paradigm shift in product development, testing and validation.

Plus, in a special panel discussion, insights into the future of virtual engineering will be provided by Dr Sandeep Sovani, global head of go-to-market for engineering in the cloud at Amazon Web Services; Mario Felice, the principal and founder of virsolTech Engineering Consulting and a NAFEMS technical fellow; and Ram Bhandarkar, director of virtual engineering at Stellantis.

Plus, Kevin Jones, lab manager for the Energy Storage Technology Center (ESTC) at Southwest Research Institute, will debunk some common misconceptions about the analysis of EV powertrain technologies – find out more. The conference is free to attend for OEMs/Tier 1 suppliers, with a discounted rate available for a limited time.
