Automotive Testing Expo North America 2024

The much-anticipated Automotive Testing Expo North America 2024 has opened at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan. Running until Thursday, October 24, it brings together automotive industry leaders to explore the future of mobility and vehicle analysis technology.

As well as having 270 exhibition booths packed with the latest innovations, this year’s event boasts more content and networking opportunities than ever before, with a diverse range of sessions, workshops and showcases designed to highlight the latest trends and breakthroughs in the field.

New features for 2024

Among the key attractions is a free-to-attend workshop on operational design domain (ODD) development (10:30am, Day 1), aimed at advancing the industry’s understanding of autonomous vehicle testing. In addition, the event introduces a brand-new free-to-attend two-day conference, The Future of Automotive Testing, on Days 2 and 3, with prominent speakers from top OEMs, including GM, Ford and Stellantis, and leading suppliers. These experts will delve into critical topics ranging from cybersecurity testing to electric vehicle development.

Adding to the excitement are the two new Innovation Showcases (Days 1 and 3), where companies are presenting cutting-edge solutions and technologies that push the boundaries of vehicle testing, and the InteriVision Summit (Day 2) at the co-located Automotive Interiors Expo, which promises to explore the future of automotive interiors and the role they play in enhancing user experience.

Meet ATTI at the show

Automotive Testing Technology International, the official publication of the event, will be playing an integral role. ATTI will be opening the conference on Wednesday, October 23 at 10:00am, and will also be hosting an onstage interview about common misconceptions surrounding battery analysis, Thursday, October 24 at 11:20am. Meet the team at Booth 9026.

With a packed agenda and opportunities for networking, knowledge-sharing and collaboration, Automotive Testing Expo North America 2024 is set to be a pivotal event for automotive professionals and innovators alike.

Exhibitor Matt Millard, eastern region sales manager for ETS Solutions NA, said the company had had a very positive start to the show: “So far we’ve had a good rush of people, a few people have waved at me as they were passing to say they’re going to come back, and I’ve made new contacts, which is a very positive sign.”

Robert Camp, vice president at Eden Engineering, was similarly enthusiastic: “We’ve got a couple of leads already. For this early in the show, that’s good. It’s been a really decent start.”

Derek Zarate, product manager at Mensor USA, who featured in the Innovation Showcase, was delighted with the response to the company’s presentation. He commented, “Being by the stage has been great; there’s been lots of traffic and good questions — it’s been a good show.”

First time exhibitor Impedyme debuted its new combined HIL-PHIL test solution. The supplier’s co-founder and CTO, Arash Nazari, said, “We’ve had good traction, especially from people who are active in this field. They know the challenges of combining these technologies and we’ve seen a lot of excitement from them because they can build on our system rather than having to go through the difficulties of integrating conventional equipment.”

Highlighting the fact that the expo serves multiple purposes, Robert Hoffman, business development at Drive System Design, noted, “The show is a great way to understand the status of the industry and reconnect with people in the industry. We’ve also had a few promising conversations with potential customers, which is equally valuable. In addition, it’s interesting to walk around and look at other suppliers to see what they can bring to our offering.”
