US-based Gamma Technologies, a provider of engineering simulation software, has announced the appointments of Dr Thomas Morel as chairman and technology adviser, and Dimple Shah as CEO.

Shah (above) replaces Dr Morel (below), who is stepping down as CEO of the company after leading it for 26 years since its inception. In his new role, Morel will chair the company board and assist Shah in setting the company direction and supporting key technology, product and strategic growth initiatives.

Morel co-founded Gamma Technologies in 1994 with the vision of developing a unique CAE simulation tool combining many physical domains to address modeling of whole vehicles and of their powertrains. Having first focused on internal combustion engines with GT-Power, GT rapidly expanded to simulate other systems such as thermal management, fluid systems, multi-body mechanics, electrical systems and fully integrated systems, giving rise to GT-Suite, the company’s flagship product.

“My commitment to Gamma Technologies’ success remains as strong as it has always been,” said Dr Morel. “I am pleased to have the opportunity to work with the company from the new perspective of chairman in support of its CEO Dimple Shah, as GT embarks on its next phase of growth. I am also thrilled to continue contributing to the exciting development ideas being planned for GT-Suite.”

Shah is a 25-year veteran of the CAE industry and brings to GT executive leadership experience that has driven transformative growth with a focus on simulation-powered industry innovation.

“I am honored, humbled and excited by the opportunity to lead GT,” said Shah. “I am struck by how well GT’s core values and culture resonate with me personally. Under Tom’s visionary leadership, the GT team has built a best-in-class company that has made a lasting impact on how industries innovate. Our customers’ industries are undergoing rapid transformation, and we have a unique responsibility to help them successfully navigate this change.”
