Dytran integrated into HBK business following acquisition by Spectris

In a strategic business move, accelerometer specialist Dytran Instruments has been purchased by Spectris and integrated into the HBK arm, broadening both companies. Based in California, Dytran’s largest market is in North America. This move opens up HBK’s access to an important new sales region while Dytran will benefit from HBK’s global presence.

Ben Bryson, president of HBK, said, “I’m very excited to welcome Dytran and its employees into HBK. Together we will enhance customer processes and assets with sensing solutions. With a strong position in space, aerospace and defense, we will bring additional value from our piezoelectric accelerometers, delivering higher customer intimacy and a broader product capability. The precision sensing sector is well placed to grow in a more connected and sustainable world, and the addition of Dytran will support us to empower the innovators.”

Dytran’s technologies include its piezoelectric sensors, which measure vibration, force and pressure, 6DOF sensors, MEMS accelerometers and digital smart sensors.
