German ADAS and AD development and validation specialist b-plus technologies has formed a partnership with IBM to develop a solution to manage the vast volumes of data generated during the development of autonomous driving systems.

The company notes that the management of measurement data places high demands on the entire process and tool chain: starting with the collection of test data, and including its storage and processing, b-plus technologies and IBM are collaborating to meet these challenges together.

“It is our mission to solve the challenge arising with the data volumes of autonomous driving for our joint customers,” Alexander Noack, managing director of b-plus technologies, emphasized. “IBM Storage Solutions tie in excellently with our portfolio at several points.”

b-plus notes that its specialism is the development of tools for testing, validation and safeguarding of automated and autonomous systems, all of which require structured and secure data-handling systems.

“The development of systems for autonomous driving is being pushed by this symbiosis [between the two companies],” concluded Frank Krämer, IT system architect at IBM Deutschland.
