Anritsu and Valeo partner on digital twin validation for SDVs

Anritsu and Valeo have announced that they are to work together to advance virtual validation capabilities essential for the evolution of the software-defined vehicle (SDVs). The companies will collaborate on software development for vehicle domains such as the telematics unit, enabling a more cost-efficient and future-ready process.

The rise of SDVs

The automotive industry is undergoing rapid transformation, moving toward in-vehicle software-defined architectures. Cellular connectivity plays a growing role in such architectures by connecting the vehicle to cloud infrastructures to deliver continuous value for the end users. This shift requires a wide range of test parameters. Traditional workflows rely on hardware-based validation and manual parameter extraction, forcing design engineers to develop complex test bench setups to cover various operating conditions. Given the accelerating demands of the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) cycle, there is an urgent need for quicker, scalable and automated modeling solutions.

Anritsu addresses this challenge by integrating a virtual engine that reproduces field events into its software-based In-the-Loop Simulator. This makes it possible to build a realistic digital twin of multi-network environments, including inter-MNO (inter mobile network operator), and vehicle-to-vehicle communications (V2N2X/V2X) that simulate multiple vehicles on a cloud or local machines.

Gilles Mabire, CTO Valeo brain division, said, “Telematic unit and connectivity in general is a strategic pillar of software-defined architecture. This product, developed by Valeo, has to connect and operate in all cellular networks and in various and diverse field conditions. The growing complexity of development happens in the context of reduction of vehicle development cycle and is associated with a continuous reduction of vehicle cost and efforts. Combining virtual telematics unit and virtual cellular network running both in the cloud is an innovative solution to tackle these challenges and is the baseline of this partnership with Anritsu.”

“Anritsu has long focused on enhancing the quality of in-vehicle connectivity systems,” added Yukiharu Ogawa, IoT test solution division general manager of Anritsu. “To ensure stable utilization of sophisticated connectivity services, it is essential to implement software that takes into account the edge cases that occur in the real world.

“Anritsu addresses this challenge with a one-stop toolchain that comprehends everything from field driving tests to simulations in the lab. Furthermore, the integration with Valeo’s software development solution allows car manufacturers to carry out end-to-end verification, from in-vehicle systems to the backend, in a fully virtualized environment.”

Valeo and Anritsu will unveil a live demonstration at MWC2026 in Barcelona, Spain (March 2-5, 2026).
