Aptiv and Hyundai form autonomous vehicle joint venture company

Aptiv and Hyundai Motor Group have formed a 50/50 autonomous driving joint venture to develop and advance autonomous driving technologies and solutions.

The new business will be headquartered in Boston, with technology centers across the USA and Asia. Experts at the newly formed company will be able to leverage Hyundai Motor Group’s design, engineering and manufacturing expertise and Aptiv’s autonomous driving solutions. Under the new company, the two aim to commercialize an autonomous driving platform suitable for robotaxi providers, fleet operators and automotive manufacturers.

The name of the joint venture will be announced at a later date.
