Job Title: Business Development Manager EV
Reports To: VP of Sales & Marketing
Job Purpose
The Business Development Manager is responsible for sales and product design and quotation (SOW/RFP/RFI/RFQ) efforts in chamber products specifically for the Lithium-Ion battery market. The position is responsible for the market development in the growing battery production in North America. Is also responsible for profitability through relationship building and the generation of sales in this new market for WNA. This position reports to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing through various forms of communication including weekly reports, monthly meetings, and quarterly reviews.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary
* Achieve/Exceed forecast, grow sales and increase battery development market share.
* Builds relationships toward the battery development market and growing the sales channels of integrators, contractors and automotive OEM’s expanding their production into battery manufacturing with WNA respective products. As an example:
GM-LG Chem-Contractors
Tesla-Panasonic-Integrators
Toyota-Envision-Contractors
Ford-SK-Contractors
Stellantis-Samsung-Contractors
* Develop vertical sales strategy with a customer by engaging with all departments associated with a capital equipment procurement (Examples are Facility/Maintenance, Engineering, Project Management, Purchasing, Executive relationships)
* Assists in planning and executing effective sales, engineering, and marketing initiatives in close collaboration with the Marketing Manager and VP of Sales as needed or requested
* Provides Product Engineering leadership and expertise on the product for this market. As an example:
Dry room technology for battery cell manufacturing
Plug and test lab for EV development
Battery test center rigs (heat, cold, wind, humidity)
* Beneficial collaborations with other vendors in the EV market for potential partnerships (IE battery cyclers or analytics)
* Performs sales forecasting and tracking. Provides timely and accurate forecasts to the VP of Sales
* Work with Sales Coordinators and Product Engineers during quoting process
* Acts as a liaison between customer engineering and Weiss Technik engineering
* Participates in various teams and initiatives within the company as requested
* Develops and provides timely activity and management reports as required by the VP of Sales
* Hand over sold jobs through job review process
* Define Unique Selling Points of these products and create comparisons against competitor products
* Provides timely market information to the VP of Sales
* Participation in and attendance at automotive/battery industry trade meetings and conventions as requested
* Complies with all company policies and procedures
* Strict adherence to company car policy and procedures (if company car is provided)
* Office in GR headquarters, but remote capabilities within state
Estimated travel up to 50%
Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience of 8-10 years direct automotive sales and battery testing capital equipment, required
* Established automotive/battery relationships from past professional roles, strongly preferred
* Experience working with Architectural & Engineering Companies, Construction Management Companies and Integrators
* Formalized training in Sales and Sales Management preferred
* Development, implementation, and maintenance of sales forecasting (pipeline management) systems experience
Sales activity and account tracking system development and monitoring
* Expert negotiation and public communication skills
* Demonstrated multi-dimensional problem solving
* Proficient in Microsoft Suite products as well as Zoom, WebX, and Outlook
* Valid driver’s license.
