Job Title: Software Engineer – Data Acquisition & Machine Control
Location: Twinsburg, Ohio
This position is for a software engineer, working on computerized data acquisition and control systems for custom vehicle and aerospace test equipment. This is not a purely office-based position, as considerable hands-on, factory-floor and customer-site work is required, generally in product testing and customer training.
Additional knowledge with respect to electronic sensors, D/A hardware, actuators, motor drives, embedded controllers, PLCs, etc is required. You must be able to perform calibrations, run machines, trouble shoot wiring, use a volt meter, etc.
To be successful in this position, you will need to be both interested in and able to understand electro-mechanical systems using computerized data acquisition and control systems. Since every system is custom-made, considerable testing is required, and you will be performing that testing, out on the factory floor, or at a customer site. You will need to be willing and able to proficiently run machines, and avoid damaging them during initial startup.
BS/MS Computer Science / Math preferred
BS/MS EE or similar considered
Real-time hardware control
Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics
Must be able to understand the overall software-controlled electro-mechanical systems.
We build one-of-a-kind custom systems to customer requirements, which generally requires some on-site startup and training. Thus, travel to customer sites is required, typically 3-6 trips per year, 1-14 days per trip, with some to international destinations.
US citizen, no felonies, no more than 4-points on driver’s license, passport eligible.
