RTI Connext Drive achieves ASPICE Capability Level 1

RTI Connext Drive achieves ASPICE Capability Level 1.

Real-Time Innovations (RTI), a software framework company for autonomous systems, has announced that RTI Connext Drive 3.1 has achieved ASPICE Capability Level 1 (CL1).

This certification aims to improve the development processes for the automotive industry, giving OEMs more confidence and flexibility in building next-generation vehicles.

ASPICE, or Automotive Software Process Improvement and Capability Determination, is a standard designed to help automotive suppliers and OEMs evaluate and improve their software development procedures. Achieving ASPICE CL1 indicates the establishment of consistent and managed processes, which RTI says enhances risk management, boosts customer confidence and facilitates compliance with industry standards.

RTI Connext Drive, based on the Data Distribution Service (DDS) standard, is the first DDS implementation to achieve this certification. This achievement should enhance RTI’s ability to deliver reliable communications for software-defined vehicles (SDVs), supporting continuous process improvement, operational efficiency gains and regulatory compliance.

By incorporating early defect identification, ASPICE helps manufacturers reduce development time to minimize errors and rework.

“We’re strengthening our commitment to supporting the automotive industry with this ASPICE certification, further establishing Connext Drive as the world’s leading architecture for developing AVs,” said Niheer Patel (right), director of product management at RTI.

“ASPICE sets rigorous standards for software and systems development, ensuring high-quality, reliable products. This achievement underscores our commitment to providing continuous innovation and excellence in the automotive industry.”
