The European edition of the world’s largest automotive testing technology exhibition is back next month, making its grand return to Stuttgart in June.

Automotive Testing Expo has firmly established itself as the go-to event for all things related to test and validation technologies, spanning from prototype to production. It’s the ultimate showcase for advancements in durability, reliability, quality and safety, as well as the development of next-gen powertrains and AV systems.

This June, Messe Stuttgart in Germany will play host to everything you need to propel car development forward and eliminate recalls, all conveniently under one roof.

Join us on June 4, 5 & 6 for an immersive experience at the forefront of automotive testing, evaluation and quality engineering.

With more than 400 specialist suppliers on display, visitors will have the opportunity to witness and explore the latest technologies in electric and hybrid powertrain testing, battery and range testing, ADAS/AV testing, materials testing, engine testing, stress and durability testing, validation, simulation, NVH, lifecycle testing, crash testing, emissions testing, data capture, software and AI, HIL, tire testing and much more.

The pressure to deliver superior vehicles tailored to diverse markets and price points is more intense than ever. With the proliferation of complex computing systems and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), as well as the pursuit of autonomous driving and electric vehicle development, the challenges continue to mount.

Automotive Testing Expo is a crucial platform for European auto makers to stay abreast of evolving test and development processes.

What’s on the agenda?

The world’s premier automotive test and development event is back in Europe, boasting more than 400 exhibitors congregated at Messe Stuttgart.

What’s more, attendees can hear insightful discussions on the latest industry trends from more than 50 speakers across two Technology Presentation Stages.

For those specifically interested in ADAS and autonomous vehicle technology, the expo offers a dedicated section with more than 150 exhibitors, complemented by a conference featuring 120+ speakers.

An exciting new addition to the line-up is the Automotive Testing Technology International Awards Forum, where industry achievements from the past year will be celebrated through panel discussions, fireside chats and an awards ceremony.

With three days of live demonstrations showcasing products, solutions and industry advancements, attendees can delve into topics ranging from the impact of AI to data fusion and higher-definition data.

While in Stuttgart, visitors can also take the opportunity to immerse themselves in automotive engineering and design history by visiting the nearby Porsche Museum and Mercedes-Benz Museum.

Highlights to look forward to

At the testing industry’s premier technology showcase, the free-to-attend exhibition will feature more than 400 exhibitors displaying their very latest products and services.

Visitors can expect to see the most up-to-date technologies in ADAS and autonomous vehicle testing, NVH measurement tools, test rigs, simulation packages, durability testing technologies, crash testing, dynamometers, emission measurement systems and dynamic assessment tools, as well as countless service providers such as proving grounds and test facilities.

AVL will showcase its advanced measurement technologies and testing solutions at Booth 1530 and Booth 6510. At Booth 1530, visitors can explore measurement technologies across battery, powertrain and vehicle testing. This will include the new PerformanceLine solutions for battery and powertrain testing, alongside innovative test solutions for hydrogen ICEs and software for data analysis and E/E integration.

At Booth 6510, at the co-located ADAS & Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo, AVL’s experts will present the latest developments in ADAS and AD testing and development, in simulated environments and real-world scenarios. Safety standards like NCAP and GSR will be emphasized.

ZF Test Systems will display Tescon at the expo, a solution offering a configuration environment, customizable operation and real-time data processing. Tescon is designed to facilitate easy integration of devices or subsystems through interface definitions for various protocols, alongside features like parameter management, data recording and graphical/tabular test program editing. Its real-time framework supports task execution up to 10kHz and includes model and simulation support.

At Stähle’s booth, visitors can find out more about the company’s robots that execute driving cycles, aiming to achieve consistent performance regardless of environmental conditions or vehicle type. The company says these robots adhere to SAE J2951 regulations, providing calculated values for energy rating and driving index, facilitating traceable verification and aiding in homologation processes. For EVs, Stähle’s controller also meets specific requirements such as increased pedal sensitivity and dynamics, with hysteresis for energy recovery.

Messring is set to introduce a new child presence detection dummy, specifically designed to replicate a six-year-old child. With direct sensing becoming mandatory from 2025 for maximum Euro NCAP ratings in the child presence detection (CPD) category, this dummy adheres to the new standards. Featuring metal- and electricity-free actuators, the dummy accurately mimics a forward-facing child seated on a booster seat with a three-point belt. Its ability to replicate limb movement patterns, whether awake or asleep, is pivotal for assessing CPD system effectiveness. To meet protocol standards, the dummy incorporates advanced functions such as randomized breathing and motion patterns, ensuring full compatibility with the battery-powered control and supply unit of the newborn CPD dummy.

iNDTact will demonstrate its wearable smartClick system, which is designed to improve the efficiency and quality of manual assembly procedures, such as the connector assembly in automobile production lines. The system uses iNDTact’s sensor technology and signal processing platform in combination with AI-powered analytics to recognize the correct latching of connectors. If required, the information obtained can also be transmitted to central OT/IT systems. It is also possible to use the data to analyze frequency and sequency at a station.

Further highlights will include SAB Bröckskes’ high-voltage measurement technology; Spektra’s knock sensor calibration for F1; Photron’s camera solutions for automotive safety testing; DTS’s in-dummy data acquisition; and Link Engineering’s lab management solutions.

ATTI Awards Forum 2024

The anticipation is palpable as Automotive Testing Expo Europe gears up for the formal presentation of the ATTI Awards.

With a month to go until the expo gets underway, the shortlisted nominations for this year’s ATTI Awards have been revealed.

The ceremony will shine a spotlight on the remarkable accomplishments of the world’s leading vehicle engineering suppliers and specialists.

Established as a non-profit endeavor, the Automotive Testing Technology International Awards aim to commend those who have demonstrated excellence and innovation in their field. It’s a celebration of dedication and ingenuity that has propelled the automotive industry forward.

Join us in honoring these trailblazers at ATTI‘s inaugural awards ceremony, set to unfold in Hall 8 on Day 1 of the three-day event. It’s a chance to recognize the tireless efforts of companies and individuals who have surpassed expectations and made significant contributions to their community.

This year, ATTI has seized the opportunity to revitalize the awards format and introduce two new categories: ADAS & AV Test Innovation of the Year and Alternative Powertrain Test Innovation of the Year.

Alongside the prestigious awards ceremony, attendees can take part in a new forum designed to enrich the experience with a wealth of technical insights and networking opportunities. It’s an afternoon dedicated to fostering collaboration and dialogue among automotive peers, cementing the expo as a nexus of innovation and expertise.
