For engineers in the field of crash testing, Aicon is showcasing its comfortable and reliable all-in-one solution for point and surface measurement: the mobile probe ProCam combined with the Breuckmann smartSCAN.
ProCam measures vehicles before and after a crash test. The active probe is equipped with a high-resolution CCD camera and changeable probe tips. The measuring points are touched while the camera is held facing a portable or fixed reference point field to create exact 3D coordinates. When it comes to safety-relevant components such as A- or B-pillars, front wall, legroom or pedalry, more and more users have to capture surface data to match the measurement results with the simulation models. The smartSCAN white light scanner perfectly complements ProCam measurements. Its modular design is adaptable for different measuring tasks and field sizes – when measuring in narrow vehicle interiors, the 3D scanner can easily be converted to a very small size.
Aicon therefore now offers a toolkit for the entire work process, including dummy positioning with MoveInspect DPS, and deformation analysis after the crash test with ProCam and smartSCAN, as well as complete presentation and analysis of the results with the appropriate software.
