Horiba MIRA has been contracted, in partnership with civil engineering company Főmterv zRt, to design an automotive proving ground in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary. This facility will be the first of its kind in the country with specific capabilities for the testing of connected autonomous vehicles.
Autóipari Próbapálya Zala Kft, a newly-established company, have been brought in to manage the development and operations of the proving ground.
Declan Allen, chief operating officer at Horiba MIRA, said, “We are delighted to be partnering with Főmterv and supporting Autóipari Próbapálya Zala Kft with the design of this world leading proving ground. This is just the beginning of a long term relationship supporting Hungary’s automotive strategy and we look forward to helping Hungary toward its goal of becoming a major European automotive developmental hub.”
