A recently completed testing facility has officially been opened at Applus+ Idiada, Spain, by Hankook Tire.
Previously, the tire maker had several facilities spread out over the site, but these are now housed in a single workshop, the Hankook test center, to keep up with the company’s growing demand for tire testing and development programs. Having commenced operations in summer 2021, the workshop benefits from state-of-the-art, automated and paperless test logistics.
“Having been operating from the premises since summer last year, we are delighted to have now been able to hold the official opening of the new test center, even though it was on a smaller scale due to the pandemic,” commented Klaus Krause, head of the European Research and Development Centre in Hanover, Germany.
“The state-of-the-art equipment in our new workshop not only allows us to ensure optimal conditions and services, but also to implement the tire tests even more efficiently, which are a crucial part of our development work.”
The facility is located approximately 37 miles from Barcelona. Hankook and Applus+ have been in partnership for the past 16 years.
