Fertigungsgerätebau A. Steinbach (FGB), based in Germany, is a leading manufacturer of custom test rigs and associated components, with a successful track record stretching back more than 35 years.

Through close collaboration with its customers, FGB has gained insight into the real-world needs and processes of a variety of sectors. It has particular expertise in the automotive industry, aerospace, rubber and plastics, as well as bearing and drive technology.
FGB is a flexible, mid-sized enterprise that provides tailor-made answers to very specific challenges. Every solution developed by FGB is unique, whether it is a unit for in-process testing in a fully automated production line, or a stand-alone test rig used in a laboratory. The company offers everything from relatively simple single-axis rigs to extremely sophisticated systems, including six-axis rigs for preliminary development.
FGB believes firmly in in-house manufacture as the basis for the highest possible quality standards. With the exception of heat treatment and surface coating, all processes (machining, assembly) are performed at the company’s own facilities by highly skilled workers.
Test rigs made by FGB are flexible in design, can be tailored to the respective application, and undergo vibration analysis during development. They are suitable for verifying the quality of a wide variety of parts. Depending on the application, it can also be of critical importance to understand how the material acts under varying environmental conditions. Against this background, FGB provides tempering and climatic chambers with its test rigs, enabling simulation of diverse parameters.
To further develop its expertise in servohydraulic test rigs, FGB works closely with universities and research organizations, including the Institute for Reliability Engineering (Zuverlässigkeitstechnik) at Hamburg University of Technology in Germany.
As well as developing new test rigs and components, FGB also modernizes and upgrades existing systems – including third-party equipment. In many cases, this can be far more cost-effective than purchasing new products.
