For over 20 years now, Berndorf Band Group has been the world’s number one in the development and manufacture of steel belts for automotive test applications. No matter whether you are testing tires, or complete vehicles in a wind tunnel, Berndorf steel belts simulate the road surface perfectly at speeds of up to 300 km/h. We process highly resilient materials with ideally balanced properties to create precision components for high-speed testing.

Thus it is only natural that Formula I, the King class of motor racing, and leading tyre and vehicle manufacturers should put their trust in steel belts from Berndorf Band Group.

From wheel drive belts with a thickness of 0.3mm to longitudinally welded rolling road belts with a width of 3.2m, Berndorf Band Group guarantees absolute reliability for your test applications.

Many customers from the automotive industry and from the racing business require coated belts to make these fit exactly to their practical needs. Berdorf Band Group is able to supply 4 different types of coating and to apply these on the steel belt. This may be required for brand new belts as well during refurbishments and repairs.

The type of coating required depends on technical reasons. The latter are a given and may vary from test to test. Basically all coating types are bonded on to the steel belt using high performance glue.

Such glues ensure perfect adhesion which is necessary to serve in high speed applications over a long time. That implies to follow specific guide-lines relative to preparation of the belt surface, handling of the lining incl. the glue and its application on the steel belt. The latter itself requires high skills, diligence and experience which we have gained over several years up to now. Whatever your coating needs are, Berndorf Band Group is your partner in that!
